Well, it probably wasn’t quite as life changing as an unexpected pregnancy (unlikely), or winning big on the National Lottery (even more unlikely), but still, finding out your options were either to place your mother in a care home, or move in with her and become her 24/7 carer had me thinking “this really is life changing” (for me, of course…)
